The EPFL recognizes the high quality thesis by awarding the so-called top 8% thesis distinction within each doctoral school, and one of them is my first PhD student (at EPFL).
I am happy to announce that Yongpeng Liu, the student enrolled in the SNSF Ambizione Energy project and whose thesis I directed with Prof. Kevin Sivula at EPFL, has just received the TOP 8 % thesis distinction from the EDCH, the doctoral program in chemistry and chemical engineering.
Yongpeng published 7 papers as first author and 20 as co-author during this period as a PhD student! Which is quite an achievement that is worth this prize. But, it is key to acknowledge the LIMNO team as a whole, because without them this could not have been possible.

Overall, this is an award to be shared with the team, and specially with all those students/postdocs that (i) explore and optimize some of the materials we used in this thesis, (ii) taught us how to use some techniques and how to interpretation the data, (iii) shared his ideas / comments /expertise and (iv) inspired us.
