The ASSET lab is happy to announce that the project DELICAT got funded by the AEI through the RETOS-2021 call!
The project DEpolymerization of LIgnin via multilinkage-target photoCATalysis (DELICAT) is the first independent project of the ASSET lab that gets funding at a national call. This project, scheduled to be developed over the next three years (2022-2025) and funded with 102 kEUR, will further expand the capabilities and facilities of the lab. DELICAT aims at developing a new technology capable of sourcing highly-functionalized petrochemicals from lignocellulosic biomass using sunlight, while unravelling the chemistry involved in this valorization process. Overall, DELICAT pursues laying the foundations to kick-start a regenerative economy.
